Quantity: A Sweet & Friendly Font for Creative Projects

I was staring at my screen, trying to breathe life into a simple candle label design. The product was lovely—a handmade soy candle with a vanilla bean scent—but the label felt flat, just another generic rectangle with a name. I needed something that whispered handcrafted and personal. That’s when I opened my font library and found Quantity. The first time I typed “Vanilla Bean Dream” with this font, I smiled. It wasn’t just text anymore; it was a little piece of artwork, sitting right there on my mockup.

The Personality of a Handcrafted Font

Quantity is, as its description promises, sweet and friendly. It carries a genuine whimsical charm. Each character feels lovingly drawn, with gentle curves and a playful, slightly irregular baseline that gives it that authentic hand-lettered look. It’s not overly formal or dramatic, which makes it incredibly approachable. The mood is light, joyful, and endearing—perfect for projects that aim to connect on a personal, emotional level rather than just convey information.

Bringing Products to Life with Quantity

Testing it across various shop materials confirmed its versatility. For my candle labels, it transformed the product name into a featured decorative element. On a mockup for greeting cards, a simple “Thank You” written with Quantity became the central visual focal point, infusing the card with warmth. I used it for a wedding welcome board design, and the bride’s and groom’s names looked lovingly inscribed, not just printed. It shines on:

This font affects presentation profoundly. It elevates perceived quality, suggesting care and attention to detail. For brand consistency, using Quantity for your product names or key phrases across different mediums creates a recognizable and emotionally appealing signature style that customers remember.

Readability and Practical Application Advice

Quantity is a display font. It’s ideal for short phrases, names, titles, and decorative wording. I found it perfect for product names on labels, headlines on invitations, and single-line quotes on wall art. Its charm is best preserved when given space to breathe.

For cutting machines like Cricut or Silhouette, it performs well on medium to larger cuts. The distinct character shapes make for clean cuts. For small stickers or tiny tags, I’d advise testing a sample first; the decorative nature might lose clarity at very small sizes. It’s not suited for long paragraphs, dense technical information on labels, or any small, functional text like disclaimers or instructions. For those elements, you’ll need a clean, readable companion font.

Readability in print is excellent at reasonable sizes. On product mockups and listing images, it draws the eye beautifully. On physical merchandise like shirts or bags, ensure the print area is large enough to let the font’s details shine.

Pairing Quantity with Other Fonts

A decorative font like Quantity needs a practical partner. For all the necessary small text—instructions, details, addresses, body copy on cards—I paired it with a simple, clean sans serif font. This combination is classic: the decorative font provides emotional appeal and visual interest, while the sans serif ensures clarity and professionalism. A simple serif can also work for a more editorial feel, say for longer text in a wedding program alongside Quantity-used headlines.

Technical Considerations for Makers

Before using any font for physical products or digital downloads you sell, checking its licensing is crucial. Ensure Quantity comes with a commercial license that covers your intended use—selling physical items with the font printed on them, or creating and selling digital templates or printables that include the font.

From a design asset perspective, explore if the font includes alternates, ligatures, or swashes. These can add even more customization, allowing you to tweak certain letters for a perfect fit in a logo or a special word. Check the file formats to ensure compatibility with your design software and cutting machine software. Also, verify multilingual support if your products might use words in other languages.

In the end, Quantity is a font that brings a smile to the design process and, subsequently, to the final product. It’s a tool that doesn’t just type words; it illustrates them with charm. For makers looking to infuse their work with a dose of sweet, friendly personality, it’s a wonderful addition to the creative toolkit.
